JPEG XR(微軟HD Photo格式)今天終于通過審核,成為ITU-T推薦的國際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)(ISO/IEC 29199-2),與此同時(shí)使用JPEG XR的JPIP議定書已經(jīng)開始撰寫.
“JPEG XR”的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化確保數(shù)碼相機(jī),打印機(jī),顯示器和軟件公司能夠在開發(fā)其新產(chǎn)品的時(shí)候兼容互通.其核心技術(shù)由微軟核心媒體開發(fā)團(tuán)隊(duì)開發(fā)完成,針對(duì)當(dāng)前和將來的數(shù)字圖像發(fā)展需求以提供了許多新的優(yōu)勢和特點(diǎn).

在Windows 7操作系統(tǒng)中已經(jīng)支持了這種新的文件格式,JPEG XR相比其它技術(shù)更有優(yōu)勢,其中包括更好的壓縮技術(shù),以一半的文件大小保存與JPEG相同質(zhì)量的圖像,或以相同大小的文件保存質(zhì)量相當(dāng)于JPEG兩倍的圖 像.JPEG組織還對(duì)微軟開放與JPEG XR相關(guān)的專利的決策表示了贊揚(yáng),稱微軟免許可費(fèi)政策將有助于JPEG推動(dòng)JPEG XR普及,有助于確保它能夠被更多的用戶所采用.JPEG組織還鼓勵(lì)其它公司向微軟學(xué)習(xí).

The Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) is a Working Group of ISO/IEC, the International Organisation for Standardization / International Electrotechnical Commission, (ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29/WG 1) and of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T SG16), responsible for the popular JPEG, JPEG 2000 and more recently, the JPSearch, JPEG XR families of imaging standards. The WG1 group meets nominally three times a year, in Europe, North America and Asia.
The latest meeting was held on July 13 - 17, 2009, in the Polaris Technology Park, Pula, Sardinia, Italy, hosted by the Italian National Body.

The Advanced Image Coding and Evaluation Methodologies (ISO/IEC 29170 - AIC) ad hoc group is working on a technical report on evaluation methodologies to help in the definition and refinement of coding techniques. AIC is issuing two calls for requirements and technologies: one for medical imaging and one for camera sensor data interchange and archival applications.

JPEG XR (ISO/IEC 29199-2) is now an International Standard and also an ITU-T Recommendation (T.832). New work has been started to enable the use of JPEG XR image coding within the JPIP protocol, which allows interactive browsing of networked images. The Motion JPEG XR specification for support of video sequences is currently approaching the Final Committee Draft phase of the ISO/IEC approval process. WG 1 is pleased to note the successful completion of JPEG XR verification testing experiments for low dynamic range images.
