VirtualBox 自4.1.0正式版起，支持虛擬機(jī)的克��；64位主機(jī)的內(nèi)存限制提升到1TB；增加WDDM圖形卡驅(qū)動(dòng)，Windows虛擬機(jī)可以支持Windows Aero效果，支持Direct3D；等給力更新。

VirtualBox最早是德國(guó)一家軟件公司InnoTek所開發(fā)的虛擬系統(tǒng)軟件，后來(lái)被Sun收購(gòu),改名為Sun VirtualBox，在Sun被Oracle收購(gòu)后現(xiàn)改名為Oracle VirtualBox。

因?yàn)樗�是開源的，不同于VM，而且功能強(qiáng)大，可以在 Linux/Mac 和 Windows 主機(jī)中運(yùn)行， 并支持在其中安裝 Windows (NT 4.0、2000、XP、Server 2003、Vista、Win7)、DOS/Windows 3.x、Linux (2.4 和 2.6)、OpenBSD 等系列的客戶操作系統(tǒng)。

— VMM: preserve segment limits and attributes when switching to unreal mode required for some legacy guests to work properly 
— VMM: fixed a VM hang after a resume from pause / savestate with SMP guests in rare cases 
— 3D Support: several fixes for the Windows WDDM video driver crash 
— NAT: fixed a crash on attempt to process ICMP datagram under some circumstances 
— Host-only Networking: lifted the maximal number of interfaces to 128 on Linux and Mac OS X hosts (there is no such limitation for Solaris and Windows hosts) 
— EFI: fixed wrong SEC/PEI Core entry point calculation 
— VRDP: fixed a display update problem 
— Main: set the proper VM state if savestate failed for some reason 
— Main: more useful error message if a medium is inaccessible 
— VBoxManage: fixed controlvm savestate if the VM is already paused 
— Mac OS X hosts: addressed issues running on Mountain Lion Preview 3
— Linux hosts: Linux 3.4 compile fixes 
— Linux hosts: fixed wrong help path in some rpm-based packages 
— Guest Additions: fixed handling of custom environment variables during VBoxManage guestcontrol execute 
— Windows Additions: fixed guest driver crash of VBoxSF in certain cases 
— Windows Additions: don't load the WDDM driver if 3D support is not available for Windows 8 guests to keep the guest maintainable in that case (still better to miss some features than providing a blank screen) 
— Solaris Additions: added support for X.org Server 1.11 and 1.12
